The University of Alabama Crison Tide and the Louisiana State University Tigers carry on their on-going rivalry. Each teams have been rivals in the Souteastern Conference because the early 1930′s. The competition is fierce though Alabama leads in wins. The contest of 1922 saw Alabama outscore LSU 47 to three. The 2007 competitors saw the highest scoring game with LSU outshining Alabama, 41 to 34. The teams started out competing against each other, on a yearly basis, in 1964.

When Coach Nick Saban took over Alabama’s team, in 2007, things warmed up – Saban had previously been the coach at LSU. Even though the first game by the new coach became known at the “Saban Bowl” his group lost 41-34. Saban’s joining Alabama came at an exciting time as it pits his skills once more LSU coach Les Miles. Miles is identified to several as a large-time BS’er. Saban, of program, was considered a traitor by his former players and fans. The 2007 game was virtually as considerably about the coaches as it was the game.

Now the University of Washington Huskies have Jake Locker back for another year to continue a great re-creating work by new head coach Steve “Sark” Sarkisian.

After upsetting Arizona 36-33, they stood at three-3, and then promptly lost to Arizona State, Oregon, UCLA and Oregon State, generating some fans wonder if the upbeat beginning was in for a longer season finish.

Thankfully, Washington completely decimated its cross-state rival, humbling Washington State by shutting out the Cougars 30-zip, and then upsetting a really good California team 42-ten to end the season on a triumphant note. The Huskies’ 5-7 record did not reflect how far they had come from a winless season, or how much they had progressed.

On the precipice of taking a giant leap forward in 2010, NFL scouts started drooling more than Washington’s centerpiece of re-birth—Jake Locker. Locker did not even bother with the NFL application procedure. He walked in on Sarkisian and offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier and explained “Coach, I’m staying.” That is Jake Locker—an immensely talented, humble, matter-of-reality kind of guy you want was dating your daughter.

Locker is far from your typical, cash-grubbing, self-centered, all-planet athlete in today’s sports surroundings. Raised correct in a residence that puts God ahead of almost everything else, it can make eminent sense that Locker would make his decision with right thinking and appropriate motives.
