So I was on the OSU campus for work on Friday and there was all this greek action going on. Tons of guys lined up in the MU holding Beavers T-shirts. I gathered it was a greek thing with all the hootin' and hollerin', chanting and clapping - and greek T-shirts.
When I got home my husband (who went to OSU for a year) told me that was an event called "Jump" where, as a test of faith, the guys who are rushing a Fraternity run down the MU stairs and jump (like off a stage) into a pit of guys and they catch you. Good times! It was fun being there....and MY OH MY how polite these guys were to me. They all said "excuse me" as I tried to snake through them and they would hold the door open for me, etc. Just wanted to give some props to the students at OSU.
As a side: That's one of the reasons I love the Beavs - is because my husband was one at one point- that and because when UO went to the Rose Bowl about 10 yrs ago, Beaver fans were there with signs that said "Beaver Backers, Backing the Quackers".
