| So we don't get an asterix for the UW loss (without our best player and floor leader) but we do get an asterix for the Stanford win? Come on! If your doeling out asterixs at least be consistant!!
Whats your definition of a "pretty" game anyway? Would you call UCLA's loss to stanford pretty or ugly? You keep downplaying the Duck win over stanford as ugly like it doesn't count. Brook didn't play the first what 1 min for violation of team rules, so what he still played most of the game. So if he had started and played 1 more min it would have a different outcome? It doesn't matter if they won by 1 or 100, if the ball hit the rim 200 times then went in or if it was a swish, it still counts. A win is a win no matter how you slice it. A loss is a loss. You can't say this one doesn't count because you thought it was ugly, your argument does not hold water for this reason.
And i never once said the Ducks were the best team in the best conference. I guess you should be asking if YOU read MY posts. I said: "They are in first place. Every team in the toughest conf in the country is chasing them." Maybe that is where you are becoming confused. I simply stated they were in first, they are the team to beat. If it was OSU in first i would say the same thing about them.
I still don't agree with the whole history and banner thing. Are the players staring at the banners or the basket during the game? I haven't been to Pauley, maybe the banners hang right by the baskets? Were these kids even born when UCLA was winning those banners? I don't think the media takes anything i say to heart, and I guarantee they aren't considering anything you say either. LA is a media center, and guess what, thats where UCLA plays!!! Of course they hype them, they do the same thing for USC. The media in Eugene hypes the Ducks, the media in Cornvallis hypes OSU. We just don't have 50million ppl to read into that hype.
So since Kentucky has always been a national power but are 16-5 and sit 2nd in their conf are they still the team to beat in their conf?? They have banners too, way more than Florida. How about Indiana? They have banners. NOW i will not argue with UCLA being the team to beat for now. It could change if they lose.
Looked like the Ducks of last year! UCLA did a good job of going inside this game, something they didn't do in the last game. That exposed the Ducks small lineup and lack of bigs.
UCLA plays 5 road games still, at the zona schools and at the washington schools. Ducks have only 3 road games left. Its still not over!!!
