Dirk Koetter on the Insight bowl

"We're going to spend Dec. 27 in BEAUTIFUL downtown Phoenix Arizona, and we're pretty fired up about that. Have any of you people been to downtown Phoenix at Christmas time? I'm serious now... it's nice." -- Dirk Koetter at a press conference after the ASU vs. Arizona game. He might have had a bad year, but at least he still has a sense of humor about things.

that's a good one.

Although, I've been on two business trips to Phoenix in July, during the monsoon season. Not even joking...that is really beautiful stuff. Crazy wind, lightning storms....it was awesome both times.

Ya, I just think it's funny because it's basically a home game. 10 min. away and it's supposed to be a bowl game. Almost like Boise State always playing at home on the blue turf for their bowls.

woops, I think I missed the context of that joke. Still funny nonetheless.

Is the Insight Bowl being played at the baseball stadium where the D-backs play? When will the Cardinals have there new stadium ready? I hear the field can roll/slide outdoors so they can play on natural grass during the season.

Ya the Insight.com bowl is held at what used to be BankOne Ballpark (where the D-Backs play) but it just recently changed names. It's a really nice stadium and a fun place to watch games.

The Cardinals new stadium I think is pretty much done and will be open for next season. I haven't heard much about it lately so I'm not really sure.
