Bad day

Looks like it's been a rough day for Cyclone fans. First the football team handed over the Big 12 North to Colorado after beating them not long ago. Then if that wasn't bad enough, Iona beat the Iowa St. basketball team (ranked 23rd) by almost 20 points. Talk about a bad day for the athletic department.

Yep..Iowa State completely blew it....again...disgusting.

On the negative side:
Iowa State losing put the trashiest team in the Big XII champ...After Colorados previous two performances and their completely embarassing fans no one wants to see the Buffs in the game..

On the postitive side:
It moves Nebraska up in the bowl situation..looking at either the Alamo or the Holiday bowl. Talk about turn of events when last week we were talking Champs or Houston.

I wouldn't mind seeing Oregon play Nebraska at the Holiday bowl. That would make for a much more interesting and fun match up.

There would be a big time fan base from both teams at the Holiday since both teams travel soooo well.

You know what, Nebraska has taken a lot of flack lately for not winning games. I think the coach is actually doing some pretty positive things in updating the ole' playbook. I think when Nebraska starts getting recruits that fit into their system, Nebraska will be back and be a much improved team.

You know, we here in the Great Northwest have a saying whenever a team continually blows their chance at a big win or grabs defeat from the jaws of victory. We say they "Couged it" (past tense....for my grammatically challenge pactentalkers) or they are "Cougin it" (present) or they will "Coug it" (future). All in reference to the countless times and numerous ways Wazzu has let games slip away, usually against the Huskies. I guess we will need a phrase in the great Midwest such they "Cloned it" or "Cycloned it" or the "Twistered it in" (LAME). Whatever. Iowa State fans have to be puking their guts out.

I like "cloned it". That's my vote. Poor cougs - nothing like being named for blowing games.
