Midwest Pac-10 (Ariz St) fan

Hey there guys and girls.. I just got this like from brady_44 off of ESPN's Ariz. St. board..so I figured why not register here. I am 17 years old and outta Omaha Nebraska. I've been a Sundevil football, basketball, and baseball fan for years now. I love ASU and the Pac-10. I will be graduating high school this year and have narrowed my list of colleges down to 4:
..Arizona State
..Oregon U.
..Nebraska-Lincoln
..Kansas U.

So as you can see, two Pac-10..hah.. anyways.. Hopefully I can learn a lot off of these forums and such and contribute.

Take care, and nice meeting ya.

ASU Husker, just wanted to say welcome to the site. I'm a midwestern transplant (Iowa to Arizona) so I feel your situation. Anyway I will keep this short and sweet because I'm sure I will see you around. Just wanted to say welcome and we look forward to hearing from you.

Hi ASU Husker. Nice picks for schools. I went to UO and loved it and I have friends who went to ASU - they loved it, too. (just a little plug for PAC 10)

see you around!

Okay, I'll plug for Oregon, too. There is nothing like the campus in the fall and there is nothing like football season here.

oh, yeah, and if you're a sports fan across the board, Hayward field (UO's track and field stadium) just won the bid for the 2008 olympic trials. It will be totally amazing.

I went to the Pre Classic this June and watched olympic athletes compete. It was a life memory that I'll never forget.

I went to Portland State...it SUCKED. College is what you make of it. I'm sure any school you choose, you will have fond memories for the rest of your life. As long as you maintain a level head and keep the drinking binge to just one night every week or two, you will be fine. By the way, Eugene is a very nice city not too big and not too small. UO could use a Midwesterner or two.

Go-Pac, I was seriously considering being a Viking...but after my visit..Yuck. I did NOT like PSU at all...really not my type of school. It seemed like youd really have to be in the whole Portland culture to wanna goto PSU. (If you know what I mean..?) But yea, Portland State did not impress me one bit. Which sucks, becasue I really wanted to go there just becasue I love Portland.

I'm a bit too harsh on Portland State. PSU is a good school, but it is a commuter school with average student age of around 26. Since it is in the heart of Portland, the campus lacks that college feel. They have some solid programs in business and engineering, but I majored in Biology and the science department I thought was lacking. I also chose PSU because it was the most conveniant school when I got out of the Air Force. I saved some money living at home and used the GI Bill to pay for everything. I think if I were more willing to accept student loans I probably would of attended one of the several awesome private schools in the area or attended the UO.
