| thank you, ASU Husker for bringing this up. I didn't want to say anything because it would just look like I'm an Oregon fan whining. But I couldn't agree with you more. Fresno St. has got to be so pissed by now. ND has no business being ahead of Oregon (2 losses) and should be, at the very least, in a dead heat with Fresno. And one of ND's losses was to Michigan St. - what have they done this season to make them a "notable" team to lose to? But I'm waiting to see what the computers say - will they say the same thing as the two coaches polls? Will ND be ranked #6 in the BCS tomorrow? | I'm with both of you on this one. I think ND is a very solid team, but not a great team. As much as it sickens me, they are all but a lock for the BCS because of their ability to draw ratings and money. I think ND is probably deserving of a 15-20 rating but certainly not #6. The thing that is really messed up about the whole deal is they are ahead of Oregon (and others they shouldn't be) who only lost to USC, when ND lost to USC and Michigan State. At least they do have one "big win" by beating 7-4 Michigan ![]()

This little equation will determine the Fiesta Bowl teams: UO + ND = $ OSU + ND = $$$$$ ND does not deserve to be in the Fiesta and the real match-up should be UO vs OSU. Unfortunatly $ signs will prevail over common sense. Ask all the so called "sports journalist" who voted ND so high in the rankings this one question: If another team (like Minnesota, Cal, Arizona, Colorado, Auburn, etc) played the exact same schedule with the exact same results, would they be ranked as high as ND is now. I seriously think not. It is all BS. ![]()

I know your'e right, Go-Pac, but my heart still wants to believe these two articles.... http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...ruthandrumors/ http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...ons/index.html I still don't understand why ND is a shoe-in, though, say over OSU, especially after seeing the BCS rankings today. Why does it come down to "what lucky team gets to play the Irish?"

It is all about the color green, and I'm not talking about the Thunder Green of the UO unis. ND is a lock because, well because they are ND and they will command a large audience. They didn't deserve to be in the Fiesta in 2000 and they got spanked by the Beaves. This I believe is a far superior ND team then the 2000 version, but they do not belong.

Get this though, I listened to a video clip I saw online and heard Lee Corso say that Notre Dame is "Americas team." At least the voters aren't biased at all ![]()

lol. that was a good one. That's some seriously good propoganda, though...."America's team". So why are they biased? Other than them not being in a conference, what's the history on this team that I'm missing that gives them such mystique? Last edited by Autzen Powers : 11-21-2005 at 02:31 PM.
