Pac Ten Player of the Week? (football)

my vote goes to Jonathan Stewart from UO, I was impressed by Booty and Yvenson Bernard as well and I didn't see him but I hear Ben Olson was great

also the TE from SC had a great game

I'd make this a poll but I missed a lot of the pac ten games this weekend (only watched, osu, and cal...then spilt with wazzu and usc-missed the others)

since I watched the OSU game entirley and am a Beaver fan I'll tell you why I was impressed with yvenson:
1. he had if I remember right just 19 carries, thats impressive because he got something lik 124 yards off that where as last year he'd have 50 carries (yes 50) and go for 100 (bernard played 3qtrs if i remember right vs. EWU)
2. Beacause he looked like an aboslute beast, why this is a reason is because I expected him to be out of shape sinc he had off-season surgery
3. because he has had juco transfer clinton polk on his ass since the team started practicing (polk joined when bernard was rehabing from the surgery so it made bernard look worse in that sense
4. did i mention he looked like a beast?

note Joe Newton and Sammie Stroughter were also great on thursday

I wouldn't want to take a whole lot from the game against IAA Eastern Washington, even though they Beavs looked real good, it was more of a tune-up. We will know more about they Beavs when the play the Broncos on the Smurf Turf. As I recall, the Broncos put up 40+ points on the Beavs two years ago. Pac-10 teams don't often play WAC teams on the road and this is a mini Super Bowl for the Broncos and their fans. UO has the same problem when they visit a solid Fresno State team in Fresno this weekend. This game scares me more than any other game on the schedule.

I think the Beavs have revenge in thier minds - so I predict a solid win against at the smurf turf.

My vote is a toss up between Stewart and Newton. Newton beat a school record, so I gotta give props to that.
