Which is the first coach to go?

Both of these teams have talent and as I see it, some fresh blood might be in order. Thoughts?

If it wasn't for Riley having history at OSU, I might say Riley. But also, ASU has such immense talent - that running back is awesome - that it looks like it might be Koetter first. Although, ASU has only been beaten by Cal and Oregon, which are 2 of the toughest teams in the Pac-10 (as it seems so far). If ASU can win the rest of their games (minus USC), and they switch back to the other QB, Koetter might be safe.

the answer is Koetter

Riley ain't going nowhere, because we'd have to pay about 2 million $ to buy out his contract, and unlike the ducks we don't have phil knight to give us that kind of cash

koetter needs to be fired right now (well actually he needed to be fired about 2 years ago)

Nike money. heh. We deserve that.

yeah, I thought about Stoops after I posted the poll. He might be on his way out, too. Maybe even first.

I think Stoops will end up being a decent coach. He's landed some pretty solid recruiting classes since he's been there, but needs a lot of time... you have to keep in mind the school he took over has been down for quite a while when it comes to football. I would expect them to be pretty solid in years to come.

Koetter should absolutely be the first to go, but I just don't see it happening.

Maybe they should give his job to Ty. He seems to be able to work wonders in 2 seasons..... Although I bet he's happy where he is.

Ya, I've always thought Ty was a good coach. Imagine what he could do with recruiting here in the desert. Another note: I just saw that Dirk Koetter in his career is now 2-18 vs. ranked teams... clutch.

I think they will all make it through one more year, but I think Koetter is in the most trouble especially after the Keller/Carpenter debacle.

I think Carpenter is still a decent quarterbak, but he was thrust into a bad situation, and hasn't had much help getting out of it. If he had some COACHING he would be alright. Too bad Koetter got an extension and pay raise (yes, I said pay raise) through 2009.

Comments about Dirk Koetter's coaching this weekend:

Quote:
I almost fell off the couch when I saw Dirk Koetter opt to punt while down 28-21 with a fourth and long deep in his own territory and less than two minutes remaining. ASU had two timeouts left, but even under the old clock rules, it was still highly doubtful the Sun Devils would've had a prayer getting the ball back. I'm pretty sure I've never seen a worse coaching move and that includes any games on PlayStation, too.
Quote:
USC blows a 21-0 lead and barely survives the slumping Sun Devils at home (-1) while getting an assist from ASU coach Dirk Koetter, who essentially opts to wave the white flag at the 58-minute mark.
He needs to be the first to go.
