Coaches' Poll revealed

Just saw that for the first time, the Coaches' Poll has been made public. This has been out for a couple days but was the first I had heard of it. Anyway this is pretty interesting to see who the coaches themselves think are the best teams. Coaches' Poll story>>

here's another good article on voting and bias.

why should coaches be allowed to vote for their own teams? Not that it really matters, they can just try to sqeeze someone else out by voting another team higher, etc.

Any ideas on how to solve the voting system? Even if the BCS weren't around, this seems like it'd still be a problem. Just curious if anyone has thought of a clever way to eliminate some of the bias. (not have coaches vote at all????? who then?)

There will always be bias as long as there are sports. I don't think there is any way to get rid of that, or even really improve it much. That being said, to me, the coaches poll is usually the most accurate one. They have a knowledge of the game that the media really can't touch, plus they are the ones who are actually out there experiencing first hand how good opposing teams are.
