Great day of college football, with the exception of the Iowa vs. Florida game. The worst officiating in the history of anything, but I'll leave that alone since I'm still a bit upset about it.

Anyway, Barry Alverez went out on a good note, and there were a bunch of games on with more coming tonight. Looking forward to some good BCS action. Only two more days after this

Too bad college football is almost all over! I went so fast!

well the Fiesta Bowl is in Tempe. We live like 3 miles from there. We could hear the fireworks going off when they scored we live that close. Yet, we were too lazy to make it down there!!

Today is football nirvana. Can't be beat unless the the Ducks are playing.

Iowa got JOBBED big time..the refs wanted to get back to their hotels and catch the ND-OSU game. That was a terrible call..that announcer really got in to it too..as he should have. Iowa was playing a hell of a come back game and they got flat out jobbed. (On a Pro-Florida note..Fantastic gutsy fake-punt call..wow!)

Other than that, great day of football indeed.

Didn't watch much of that game. I watched Wisconsin beat Auburn and the Fiesta Bowl. Caught a little of the Va Tech - Louisville game. What call did the refs blow?

They called Iowa offsides on an onside kick they recovered with like 1:00 and change left. When all Iowa players were CLEARLY (cannot stress that enough) onsides. They re-kicked and Flor. recovered. Iowa played their hearts out and made a perfect onside that the refs messed up big time.

That does suck. The refs have not had a good bowl season. The Michigan - Nebraska game was the most poorly officiated game I have seen in a long time. Both sides got screwed.

Or how about when they called intentional face mask to the Iowa reciever on offence! That's almost not possible. When they replayed it, it was actually the other way around. HE got face masked, but instead he got the penality. Ohh and how about when Iowa was going for a touchdown pass and the damn ref was in the way! The Iowa player wasn't able to catch the pass because he ran right into the flippin ref. Too bad he didn't lay him out on the ground.

Does anyone know when they can look at plays under review? I have noticed that they only do it after certain plays but not all of them. That onside kick sure should of been one of those times. Bastards

Penalties are not reviewable. I think only possesion type plays (fumble, int, etc), spotting the ball, or scoring are reviewable.

I can think of 6 or 7 calls in that game that really, REALLY screwed the Hawkeyes. I don't know if it was the home team advantage or what, but the announcers were even disgusted.
