| I think it's a real possibility - and that's me having hope. But, I think Oregon has a real case here. I think it depends on how hard we lobby for it. ND will go for sure, unless Stanford beats them (and Stanford needs another win to be bowl eligible)....but we've got a case against OSU. They have 2 losses, despite how close or hard those games were. If the BCS wants to stay in business and not continue to have contraversy....they have to consider how bad it looks blocking Oregon twice in 5 years. And we all know the fans travel well. I believe...until it's officially over...I believe! |

| Of course UO deserves to be in the Fiesta and play OSU. Unfortunatly, the country has a love affair with ND. ND doesn't belong in the Fiesta, but after the mandatory conference tie-ins, bowls assignments are a strictly a beauty contest. UO's new unis don't help. |

| This is interesting This quote comes from the article in the website below: "The key for Oregon may be what the Fiesta Bowl does with its first selection. If it takes Penn State and thus allows Notre Dame to be taken by the Orange Bowl, there is seemingly no way the Fiesta Bowl comes back with another Big Ten team, in the form of Ohio State, and instead would choose Oregon. None of the possible at-large teams from the South such as Miami or Auburn or Georgia are seen as being of interest to the Fiesta Bowl. Making it Penn State and Oregon, which played in the 1995 Rose Bowl, would thus match a pair of one-loss teams, the case Hansen and Moos say is important to Oregon's cause." http://www.registerguard.com/news/20...ction=oregonfb |

| Or Bcs OR should get a BSC at large bid over ND and OSU. A one loss team, with the only loss comming from the 1# team in the nation deserves the bid over the 2 loss teams. Eventhough, OR should not have beaten ASU. There will be revenge next year...duck on a pitchfork! |

| If West Virginia wins out they will be the Big East Champions. They won't be an at large team, they will be rewarded with the automatic Big East berth. I'm not a Big East fan but if W. Va finishes at 10-1 with their only loss being Va Tech, then I think it is fair. The problem is that if they lose to South Florida next week, South Florida will be the Big East Champion and they will have not 1, not 2, but THREE losses. That will be painful to take. A similar situation happened last year when Pitt stumbled into the Fiesta with 3 losses and got crushed by Utah. |

| Man, all I got to say is we have only lost once this year. And lo and behold that only loss was to a team that has not lost in three freakin years. I called in to the sporting news radio on xm tuesday night. I got thru to arnie spanier, you know the raspy voice guy. And boy did he tick me off. I got several good points across, before he finally hung up on me. He kept on saying "Now johnnie you have to agree that osu vs nd would be the sexier matchup"....Sexy? What is this an ad for victorias secret ? What happened to the best team goes to the bigger bowl? Yes I say OREGON is better than both ohio st. and notre lame!!! And I'll tell anybody who will listen all the reasons why. whether we get to tempe or not, the BCS still sucks. OREGON DUCKS forever!!! |
| ||||
| As far as being sexy, Penn State, Notre Dame, and Ohio State all have huge fan bases and are very history rich when it comes to football. All three would bring huge ratings and generate a ton of money, so that's who the BCS guys want. When it comes to who's better, the only way to really know is to play the games. Since there is no playoff system, there is no question that Oregon should go. The fan base isn't as big but as Autzen stated, the fans are die hard and the team travels very well. I can see it from everyone's point of view, but if Oregon doesn't get into a BCS bowl it would be an absolute shame.

| I think it's 50-50! I really do think it is a 50-50 chance that we'll be in the fiesta. We got alot going in our favor, ohio st 3-4 fiesta's, travel well, west to east t.v coverage, pac ten owing oregon for past bcs screw ups, believe me I could go on and on. On the other side I can totally see them (BCS) putting ohio st. in instead of us. I def. am some what of a realist, I know the political aspect of it. But don't we got some pull ? Nike for god's sake ? TIME TO FLEX OUR POLITICAL MUSCLE!!!! I am really trying to do my part down here in the lonestar state, all week I have been calling in the national and local radio shows, trying to stress why a one loss pacten team deserves to be in the bcs over two 2 loss teams, seems ridiculous right? I thought so. So in closing I encourage all DUCK fans to try and do their part be loud and let it be known the PACTEN HAPPENS TO BE THE TOUGHEST CONFERENCE IN THE NATION!! OUR BCS BOWL RECORD BACKS US! Please, someone out there tell me why osu or notre lame deserve it more than us. I would love to here it.PEACE. |

| It is all politics from here on out. If ND is selected by the Fiesta then I will be worried about UO's chances. The Fiesta could select Penn St and if that happens, Oregon would almost be a lock. Hopefully the Trees will render this discussion moot by beating Notre Lame. Politics!!!!!! |

| home for the holidays Looking like oklahoma vs oregon in the holiday "classic". Much rather play them than the woeful colorado buffs. I can already hear the chairman of the holiday bowl calling fiesta officials and letting them know that ucla and the sooners have already played this year so please don't take the ducks. I can also hear the fiesta people replying don't worry you'll be getting your dream matchup. I still think we got a shot but it looks more like 25%. |
| ||||
| I wouldn't mind seeing the Ducks play the Sooners. Perhaps we would get a little revenge after the whoopin they put on us last year in Norman. UO vs OU much more preferable then UO vs Colorado. The Buffs stunk it up against the Huskers. Big 12 North = Pathetic. It is also pathetic that a team like Texas has to play a championship game against the 7-4 Buffs, a team they already beat, in order to be officially crowned the Big 12 Champs. Same scenerio for Va Tech vs FSU in the ACC. One upset there and the BCS will really be screwed. These are college kids, 18, 19, and 20 year olds and Texas will beat the Buffs 9 out of 10 times, but if the the championship game falls on one night where the Buffs are clicking and Texas doesn't have there head in the game, then the whole season was for not. Championship games are pathetic. Can you here it now "NOW ENTERING THE STADIUM, YOUR 8-4 BIG 12 CHAMPS, THE BUFFALOS!!" Pathetic......wait I already said that. How about stupid pathetic. |

| Yeah I wouldn't mind getting revenge for last years whooping but at the same time I got the fiesta on my mind still. I was at last years game and the oklahoma fans were actually pretty cool, we had a good time .(xcept for losing). As far as conference championships are concerned, I think they are ridiculous. Can you imagine 4 loss colorado and a 4 loss florida st. in the BCS ? GOD THE BCS SUCKS. Let's all hops the fiesta does the right thing and takes penn state first so that way we still got a shot!!!GO DUCKS, late, BBD |
