| Bad calls did cost them the game, but if they were a true NC contender, they would have capitalized on their chances at the very end. But ya, I didn't forsee Oregon struggling like this... very fortunate to even get a bowl.

| It does suck. A monumental collapse. But remember the Ducks still had to score 14 points AND block a chip shot field goal by the best place kicker in the country to win. One tackle by OU and the game is over, but they couldn't get it done. And lets not forget the multitude of bad calls prior to that onside call. Overall the game was poorly officiated. That call just gets all the attention because it was SO bad. If the Ducks had run the table i don't think anyone would even be talking about this anymore. |

| Oklahoma is a good team this year..but not great. No doubt Stoops has done an AMAZING job considering what he has been delt..but I think they are right where they belong. They aren't quite at the level of the USCs, Ohio States, Michigans, etc. right now.. I agree with everyone saying that, "yea they got screwed in Oregon, but if they were as good as they think they should have never been in that situation"...Even if they did beat Oregon they'd be 12-1 and be one of those teams on the outside looking in when it comes to the NC game..

(or if you mean uo ran the table they would be undeafeted and be in the title game, which means much more talk about oregon than what i decribe above) |

| no they would not talk about how great a comeback it was they would talk about how oregon should have 1 loss...right or wrong your telling me if this same thing happened with say florida and south carolina (a game that was a 1pt game) people wouldn't invite michigan because of that |

| Sorry i don't completely agree. I do not know what would happen if that scenario played out in that game. I would guess that it would similar, half the ppl saying they had all the chances in the world to stop them and make the whole call a moot point, and half would complain and say the refs were paid. I imagine there would be far more death threats, riots, along with the govenor, mayor, atty general, and senators for the state petitioning for the game to be thrown out and stricken from the records. This thread has become purely speculation at this point. Who knows, if it happened down in that part of the country we might have an all out civil war on our hands right now. ![]() |
