Ducks Spring Scrimmage

I went to the scrimmage yesterday and wanted to report the good, the bad and the ugly.

The Good: killer running game - Stewart and Johnson should make for a nice one-two punch combo.

The Bad: QB's still need some "fine-tuning" as they put it in today's paper.

The Ugly: When the QB's did get the ball to the WR's, many a balls were dropped. (of course Finley was out w/ an injury, so that may have changed things....a little) And special teams needs some work - a missed field goal, a blocked punt and an errant extra point.

Stand outs: Dixon had some nice connections w/ Strong - I expect we'll see more of that. Weatherspoon also looked really good. DePalo had lots of tackles. And Harper had a couple picks...which I'll look at as glass half full.

Result: The Green team won, 26-17, lead by Dixon.

I've heard about Oregon and their special teams problems... seems like that can be a tough one to fix too. So is Dixon anticipated as the starting QB next year then?

yeah, Bellotti has said that Dixon is the #1 and Brady is that back up - but I bet Brady will see about 1/2 the playing time.

It's strange because special teams has been a problem for awhile now, but it used to be what saved us in the end, now it could be what hurts us in the end....lots of work to do there.
