Kellen Clemens

I hadn't heard much about this guy before the season started but he is making his name known this year. After letting Washington strike first, Oregon scored 38 straight points. Clemens went 36-48 for 425 yards and 4 td's. If only Oregon played UCLA this year, then we would have a matchup

Entering the season Clemens was/is in striking distance of most UO records. He was definately a known commodity here in the NW, but in a league that features USC's trio of playmakers, the hype surrounding UCLA (overrated), it is tough for anyone to recieve much publicity outside of LA.

I hear ya on the whole publicity thing. Where I am (Tempe) I don't hear much about the NW schools. There are too many exciting players in the Pac Ten to mention them all in one sitting I guess.

I agree, your QB there aint to shabby either. The Ducks will take second place in the pack ten because of Clemons. I think he is the best we have. Althogh the kid and I cant think of his name but he reminds me of vince young.(backup QB)

yeah, I think Clemens has had to live in the shadow of Harrington for awhile, and people are finally realizing how great he is. He is a terrific asset to the team and I'm glad we have him!

There was an article in the Eugene paper about whether or not Clemens should be nominated for the Heisman.... even though we know it would never happen. Bellotti made it sound like that campaign is very political and like he didn't really want to go there, which is fine with me. I think it actually benefits the team not to get involved in all that hype; keeps them grounded and focused on one game at a time.
