EUGENE - The University of Oregon cross country programs will continue to build upon the Ducks' world-renowned tradition of success during the 2006 season. In his second season with the program, director of track and field Vin Lananna and the coaching staff look to build off a solid 2005 campaign that featured dramatically new rosters. The nationally-ranked Duck women shined, finishing top-four in the Pac-10 Conference Championships and West Regional for the first time since 1997. The "Men of Oregon" surged in the second half of the season and challenged for a NCAA team invitation in the West Regional, while Patrick Werhane extended Oregon's postseason history to a 36th NCAA appearance. Success followed into the 2006 track and field season as UO's distance corps featured five indoor All-Americans and two more NCAA indoor qualifiers. Outdoors, the men and women combined for 11 Pac-10 Championships scoring efforts and five more top-eight West Regional finishes. Rebekah
