Cross Country Announces Inaugural Bill Dellinger Invitational

EUGENE - The University of Oregon men's and women's cross country programs announced Thursday that they will welcome many of the nation's top teams this fall to the inaugural Bill Dellinger Invitational, their first home event since 1998. Scheduled for Friday, September 29 at Alton Baker Park in Eugene, the meet will start at 5:20 p.m., and will feature 23 of the top teams from across the nation in women's 6,000- and men's 8,000-meter races. "We are excited to welcome the return of a University of Oregon cross country meet to this community that has supported distance running for so many decades," said Associate Athletic Director/Director of Track and Field Vin Lananna. "This meet provides an opportunity to showcase our young teams that are building on the great middle-distance and distance running tradition at this university.
