Down a player for much of the match, the Oregon soccer team dropped its season opener 1-0 to Long Beach State before a crowd of 706 Friday night at Pape' Field. The 49ers' Dana Farquar scored the game's lone goal in the 70th minute. The goal came on a corner kick by Kim Solos that squirted through the outstretched hands of Oregon keeper Jessie Chatfield and then deflected off LBSU's Sarah Strohl before Farquar finished at point-blank range.
