TUCSON, Ariz. – Freshman Ashton Eaton led a trio of University of Oregon freshmen who made their collegiate multi-event debuts Thursday in first-day track and field action in the Jim Click Shootout decathlon and heptathlon.The Bend, Ore., native Eaton led the decathlon at the halfway point with a score of 4,016 points, and was followed by post-collegian and former World Championships qualifier Paul Terek who stood second with 3,910 points after five events. Fellow frosh William Pua'a stood ninth in the decathlon with 2,975 points, and Funkhouser ranked ninth in the heptathlon with 2,510 points.
