Pac Ten Conference Predictions

Here's mine:

1) UCLA- Easily the best team in the conference. Incredible defense and a great backcourt. Collison is one of the best PGs in the nation. Afflalo is a great gaurd, too.--Final Four Team

2)UW- Inside duo of Hawes and Brockman gives UW the best frontcourt in the conference. Lots of talent on this team, but it is extremely young. Dentman is a solid PG. Team grew up A LOT in the UW-LSU blowout.--Elite 8 type of team.

3) UA- Best starting 5 in the Pac, but a very weak bench, especially in the middle. Shukar is playing very well. Lots of great gaurds and wings, but weak in the inside.--Sweet 16 type of team.

4) WSU- My surprise team. Really good gaurds, but weak inside. Second best coached team behind UCLA. Derrick Low is having a good year. --NCAA type of team.

5) UO- Playing well, but hasn't played a really good schudule. Almost a mirror image--lots of gaurds and wings, but little inside.--NCAA type of team.

6)USC- Like UO and UA in that they have lots of good gaurds and wings, but little inside. PF Taj Gibson is good, but he has little help. A great defensive team.--borderline NCAA team, probably NIT team.

7) Stanford- Good talent, but just seems to underachieve. Really lack a good PG.--No postseason.

8) Cal- Loss of centers Wilkes and Harden is killing this team. Could have possibly been an NCAA team, but injuries have killed this.--No postseason.

9) OSU--Just not a lot of good talent plus very young.--No postseason.

10)ASU--Sendek just needs to get his talent there. Will be good next season--No postseason.

1. UCLA-Gotta agree with you-they are the #1 team but watch out cause UA would be ranked #2 had the refs not taken over the road game against UVA. Note that UCLA has no seniors, we'll see how much urgency they have come March-though Afflalo is basically a senior unless he stays to play with Love which he should

2. Arizona-(Read above...) UA has all the talent in the world as well as senior leadership. Literally if I was constructing a realistic college basketball team they are pretty close for me, they just have all the pieces especially with Shakur's improvement

3. Washington-holy shit they looked good (with the help of the refs) vs. lsu, they should only get better over time too.

4. Oregon-It pains me but yes they will finish top 4, they obviously have the talent they should be a top 10 if not top 5 team.

5. USC-Is Pruitt back yet? Cause that will help a hell of a lot to get another PG on the team even if he isn't a protoypical PG anyways this team has playmakersl ike YOung and Pruitt as well as Gibson so you can' go wrong. Ndiaye is a great defender too.

6. Cal-PReseason I hated this team's chances, mainly because when Powe wasn't playing for them the past 3 years they absolutely stunk but with the help of the freshman anderson and hardin as well as ubaka they've done well vs. weak comptetion. They lost Hardin for 2 months so I really think they'll have a hard time but watch out

7. Stanford-I have yet to see them play this year so I'm putting them here based on their talent level

(I feel any of the bottom 3 could finish anywhere from 8-10)
8. Oregon State-Young team so we should get better, need to get some big guys going like Hampton and not rely on JTarver as much as we do. Also need to work STarver in the game more and stop Cuic from shooting so much!!! haha

9. Wazzu-They've started hot but don't look for it to continue, they don't have the athletes and will get worn down by surperior talent. Yep thats right-I have NO faith in them, sorry coug fans

10. ASU-Don't they get Boateng 2nd semester? Well anyways they don't got much to offer.

I think I agree with all of your thoughts just not the actual predictions. The Pac Ten should be VERY VERY VERY strong next season, Wazzu, OSU, ASU, Stanford, UW, UO, USC and Cal should all be even better while UCLA and UA adds top ten recruits in Bayless and Love and USC adds Mayo and will retain some talent (shipp will likely stay and word is Budinger will stay among others)

Postseason Picks-
UCLA (1 seed): Elite 8
Arizona (3 Seed): Final Four
Washington (4 seed): Sweet 16 but on verge of Elite 8
Oregon (6 seed): Sweet 16 (if the bracket works for them though they could make E8)
USC (12 seed): Probably 1st round or NIT
Cal: NIT
other-none

Should be a great pac ten season!!!

I agree with that. I seriously doubt he is an NBA First Round pick. I would be shocked if he becomes one this year. He really needs to come back one more year to work on his game.

I like the guy, but he doesn't do one thing really good. He just doesn't stand out to me.

As far as Afflalo, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he could make the first round. He's smart, athletic, and has a great coach. If he has a good season he could be right up there. I thought Farmar should stay last year, but he's playing very well for L.A.

Don't forget, Afflalo will be an NBA 2-gaurd, which is very competitive and difficult to master. Guys like Kobe, T-Mac, DWade, Ray Allen, Iverson, Ginobili, Vince Carter, etc. play that position. Like I said, Afflalo doesn't do anything that really stands out, such as scoring, shooting, passing, dribbling, defendin, etc. He really needs to play one more college year.

I expect Afflalo to be a 1st round pick if he were to come out this year however I don't see him as a NBA star or anything more than a 6th man so he should probably just stay in school, get a little better and keep the glory years alive.

Afflalo is better than Farmar, unfortunately Farmar plays PG and Afflalo doesn't.

Afflalo is NOT better than Farmar. Farmar shoots better, dribbles better, passes better, and creates better. Afflalo is 2nd round pick as of now in the NBA. Farmar will be a good starter for the Lakers next year.
