| Great opening night of Pac Ten play! 1) UA-Cal- Arizona looked awesome on offense. Great passing and smart shot selection led to their 90+ points. Very unselfish team. Mustafa led the way by distributing the ball, and McClellan was on fire. Cal's injuries up front are killer. No way they can finish in the top half in the Pac Ten. But freshman Ryan Anderson is a playa.
2) UCLA-WSU- Even though the Bruins won, gotta give the Cougs respect for playing the #1 team to the final buzzer. WSU PG Derek Low played well and made some tough shots. WSU played as they played all year: smart, tough, and disciplined. UCLA backcourt dudes Collison, Shipp, and Afflalo played well enough in the 2nd half to pull out the victory.
3) USC-UW- Game of the night! Hawes's 3 in the first overtime was sick! Plus Hawes was dominant inside with 24. Appleby was hot early with 6 3s in the first half. But USC kept grindin' for the win. Taj Gibson especially played well underneath. He played Hawes to a draw. Gaurds Pruitt and Young also played well.
4) Stanford-ASU ASU loses at home, but they are still rebuilding. PF Pendergraph had another double-double.
*Oregon wins a non-conference at home. |
