Bruins hire DeWayne Walker as DC

DeWayne Walker was the secondary coach, namely the cornerbacks, for the Washington Redskins. I am not familiar with this guy. From what I have read, he has a lot of experience. We shall see on September 2nd what Dorrell has invested in.

All I know is that this guy has his work cut out for him.

Seems like a pretty solid hire with a lot of experience as you said. A couple things that will be interesting, other than the fact he's taking on a large project (horrible UCLA defense).

1) He's spent most of the last 10 years away from college ball and at that other thing known as the NFL.
2) He jumps around a lot. It kinda makes ya nervous when a guy is an assistant coach at a new organization every year.

Other than that he looks like he could do a world of good for UCLA. Plus, a lot of talented players will want to play for someone who has prior NFL experience (the Charlie Weiss effect lol).
