Entering her senior season, USC guard Shay Murphy has been tabbed as one of the country's top players, having been included on the preseason "Wade Watch" list that puts her in the running for the 2006-07 State Farm Wade Trophy Division I Player of the Year award. Only 25 athletes appear on the list, with only three Pac-10 players included. Murphy earned her place on the list after a stellar junior season in which she was also earned WBCA/Kodak All-American honorable mention. The only USC player so far to win the Wade Trophy was Cheryl Miller in 1985.
