Best team in college football history?

I keep hearing that this USC team is possibly the best ever in college football. Just curious as to what you guys think.

Best team? I don't know about that. Best offense? YES! I know they don't have the stats of certain teams in the past, but I don't think there has ever been a more dynamic offense. You know when USC has the ball, any single person can go for a touchdown on any play.

The thing that kind of bothers me is when I hear people say, "but look at all the close calls they have had." When you're on top, every team is giving you their best shot. The fact that USC can score 40 when they have an "off" game, is just a testament to how good they are.

Best Ever hell no, but good yes.

It was just a couple of years ago the commentators were saying how OK was the best ever and that they could beat the bottom of the barrel NFL teams. USC is a good team but by far not the best ever and not even the best in recent history. Remeber the mid 90's Nebraska teams. They were some of the most dominate ever. Especially the 94 team. USC plays a different style and college ball as a whole has changed since the glory years of Nebraska, but if I had a time machine and could arange a match-up of the 94' Nebraska team with USC of today I would put my money on Nebraska.

Who knows who the best ever is. It is something that can never truly be known. The games of today constantly change. For example I would put a recent big city high school state championship against a 1950's NBA team and take the High school team.
