Booty vs. Sanchez

So, who is better suited to take over Leinart's old job?

Mark Sanchez: huge arm and touted by Norm Chow as the best QB recruit he's ever seen

John David Booty: better touch on the ball (supposedly), has game experience, been expected to take over since day 1

Also, both were the top QB recruits in the nation their respective years. It seems like either should be able to do the job but the situation is kind of like choosing between a Carson Palmer (arm) vs. a Matt Leinart (ball control).

I think they will probably both be given a shot early in the season. I don't know too much about either, but everything I've seen or heard indicates that Sanchez could be amazing right out of the gate.

I'm just hoping that there isn't some sort of experimenting or shuffling around during games.

There may be some of that in the first couple of games, but I don't think it will be like Oregon this year with Leaf and Dixon. PC is a great coach and I'm sure he'll figure out who fits in best by game time.

Booty has to have the inside track. He has been with the program for two years and he received the exact same type of praise that Sanchez is currently receiving when he came out of high school. Unless Spring and Fall practice say otherwise, the starting job should be Booty's to lose.

More importantly I'm just glad that USC jerseys don't have last names on them because I would hate to have to see grown men worshipping a guy named "Booty." That would just be embarrassing and sad.

Sanchez over booty

I always thought Sanchez was the better qback, but because of his off the field problems, Booty was an arguable choice. Now that booty FLOPPED against Stanford, I think Sanchez should take over. I totally agree coaches should not give the spot to the better arm, ball control and overall controlling the tempo produces more wins - this is a fact. UW made the same mistake with Brock Huard over Tuiosisopo. Big "T" did not have the arm, but posted a better record 10-1 over Huard 7-4.
