| I think USC is the clear number 1. To be the champ you have to beat the champ, so until they lose, they should be a lock. After that I think most unbeatens are a bit of a toss up. The only unbeaten that doesn't belong at all, Alabama. I think they are incredibly overrated. I personally would like to see the Texas - USC Rose Bowl.

| If UCLA and USC are undefeated on December 3, I honestly believe the winner of that game should play for the national championship. Of course, that will mean the Bruins leapfrogging over a couple of other undefeated teams, but USC will have won 30-something games by that point, and if UCLA is able to pull out a victory over that juggernaut, then the Bruins shouldn't be penalized for not being ranked at the beginning of the season, which would be the only reason they would be behind in the polls. |

| I totally agree. If Texas can jump that much for beating Texas Tech, than UCLA certainly should get priority if they knockoff the champs for 3 years running. Guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens. There is still a lot of football left to play before we get to that point.

| I agree, too. That goes with the whole pac-10 bias. Why shouldn't UCLA go, if they beat USC? if Notre Dame would've beat USC, you know they'd leapfrog over all those other teams. They have ridiculous positioning as it is. UCLA is a storied team. They are already under-ranked as it is. IMHO. The pac-10 gets no credit. We see it. We live it week to week. We know that no game is a sure game. Not because the pac-10 sucks, but because it is so good. Even Stoops, after coaching AZ last year, said something like ...I under-estimated the PAC-10. sorry for the tangent...but I really believe that the Pac-10 is the most difficult conference out there. | Reporting from the heart of Big XII country (and more than familiar with the Pac-10 and how its under-rated), I .... Agree with the poll in some ways. If firmly believe that if USC and Texas played right now..Texas would win. BUT I don't think that USC should ever move down from #1 without losing a game..I mean they haven't lost in 'X' games. They are proving to be unbeatable and nothing should stop them from losing their #1 spot. So, I think USC should be #1..But I believe Texas is the better team. |

| I'm still not sold on Texas. Then again I thought that about UCLA and they keep proving me wrong every week. If Va Tech ends the season unbeaten I think they will be more deserving than Texas. They will have played West Virginia, Boston College, Miami, and probably Florida State in the ACC Championship game. Who has Texas played? Lets see, there was a sub-standard Ohio St, an overrated Texas Tech and that is it. Oklahoma sucks, Colorado would be an average team in the Pac-10. No team on Texas' schedule appears threatening except perhaps Texas A&M and they were crushed by 30+ pts against Colorado. So I think Va Tech should finish #2. Everyone is correct in saying that USC should be #1 until they lose. |

| I think USC is the clear number one, and after that I would pick Texas. I hear you on the fact that they haven't really played anyone, but their average margin of victory is 32 points. That is the only real reason I would pick them over anyone else.
