Huskies on the Rise

Quote:
LOS ANGELES -- Moments after being denied a final play on a drive he felt was destined to be a historical game-winner, Washington quarterback Isaiah Stanback denied reporters the cliched excuses that would be expected after a controversial loss.

"I'd rather not talk about the end of the game," he said. "I really wouldn't."

Despite being asked about the end of the game a dozen different ways, the dreadlocked quarterback simply shook his head and answered the same way: "I'm not going to speak on it."

It would have been easy for Stanback to lean forward toward the microphones and recorders and complain. It would have been totally understandable, really. Stanback had just directed a 10-play, 65-yard drive in the final 1:34 and was forced to watch the clock run out as the Huskies lined up for one final play with two seconds left, even though replays showed they should have had five seconds after gaining a first down.

They will definitely go to a bowl this year - and maybe even a pretty good one. I've always liked Ty and think he's got this team on the right track.

Very good game and props to Ty for turning the boat around. I still hate the Huskies, but I will give credit when credit is due. UW is dangerous. Ty's success will put added pressure on Stoops at UA and Harris and Stanford to succeed, the sooner the better.

well it is obvious that the Dawgs weren't gonig to stay down for long but I definitly didn't thin the turnaround would come this quick, UW is actually a top 25 program right now and could potentially finish as high as 3rd in the Pac Ten-likley ahead of ASU

I do worry for the dawgs sake that they don't drop back down next year without Stanback-but as I hate the dawgs its all good
