sophmore Wide Reciever Micheal Bumpus The No.2 Reciever for wsu who was highly recriuted by USC, has just failed to get at least a 2.0 for the second straght semeser here at WAZZU (which, i promise, isn't all that hard) anyway, at this point he will have to sit out for at least one academic year, unless his appeal is successful. this would be a huge loss for the cougar football team considering he was also one of the top punt returners in the nation last season before he got injured.

I can never believe it when athletes can't make grades at UO...if it were Stanford, I might be able to understand.

I kinda feel bad for him... if he's actually trying that is. I have a couple good friends who play D-1 football, and the stuff they go through is pretty intense. The time that it takes up is one thing (30+ hours a week), but then being constantly sore and beaten up, you probably don't feel like studying all that much. Anyway I hope it gets resolved and he gets back on track.

i personally know 2 people that have appealed and gotten back in to wazzu, i just don't know about tha ncaa regs.

That is a big loss. Bumpus was probably counted on to take some of the pressure off Hill. Teams will now just double cover Hill.

yeah losing hill would have been bad, but if we lose bump, we lose a possible heisman candidate down the road(no joke). if he is able to come back, i really think that jason hill and bump will be the best reciever combo in the pac if not the country
